Acacia arcuatilis R.S.Cowan & Maslin, Nuytsia 12: 472 (1999)

Low, spreading shrub commonly 0.4- 0.8 m high. Branchlets sericeous between red-brown or yellow-brown resin-ribs at extremities. Phyllodes shallowly to strongly incurved (sometimes into a complete circle), terete, mostly 3- 6 cm long, 0.6- 1.2 mm diam., grey-green to subglaucous, resinous, appressed-hairy in the shallow, narrow furrows between the 8, broad, flat-topped nerves which are not or scarcely raised. Inflorescences simple, normally 2 per axil; heads sessile and globular, 4- 5 mm diam., 10- 22-flowered, golden. Flowers 4-merous; sepals 2/3- 3/4-united. Pods linear, slightly raised over and slightly constricted between seeds, straight to shallowly curved, to 6 cm long, 1.5- 2 mm wide, thinly coriaceous, minutely appressed-puberulous on lateral faces, resinous; margins wide. Seeds longitudinal, elliptic, 2- 2.5 mm long, glossy, mottled; aril conical, as long as seed.

Occurs from near Bindi Bindi S to near Ongerup, E to Hyden, W.A. Grows in sand, sandy loam and loam, in mallee open scrub and occasionally in open heath.

Very closely related to A. cracentis which is distinguished by its straighter, more slender phyllodes with normally single heads within their axils. Also related to A. aprica . Superficially resembles A. obesa . In the past some specimens which are now attributable to A. arcuatilis have been called A. merinthophora .
