Acacia trinervata Sieber ex DC., Prodr . 2: 451 (Nov. 1825)

Three-nerved Wattle

Shrub or tree 1–6 m high. Branchlets angular apically, later terete with low ridges, glabrous except commonly with minute resin-hairs. Phyllodes sessile, patent to inclined, linear to linear-lanceolate, straight to incurved, 1–4 cm long, 1–3 mm wide, coarsely pungent, acute, mucronate, rigid-coriaceous, glabrous, with 2 or 3 raised, distant main nerves and rare anastomoses. Inflorescences simple; peduncles 7–18 mm long, glabrous except for resin-hairs; heads globular, 3.5–5.5 mm diam., 24–45-flowered, golden. Flowers 5-merous; sepals 1/2–3/4-united. Pods linear, slightly raised over seeds, straight or slightly curved, to 12 cm long, 2–4 mm wide, coriaceous, glabrous. Seeds longitudinal, oblong, 3.5–5.5 mm long, dark brown or black; aril apical.

Restricted to western Sydney and adjacent lower Blue Mtns, N.S.W. Grows on sandstone in eucalypt communities.

Perhaps related to A. elongata ; possibly also to A. bynoeana . Possibly hybridises with A. implexa .
