Notes. According to Ross (1979: 43) the status of this entity in uncertain in absence of having seen the type; however, it is likely to be conspecific with Acacia [Senegalia] macrostachya. Variety spinosissima was based on Chevalier 3368 from Samandiniery, Casamance, Senegal, Africa.
