Notes. This name and authority is listed in the International Plant Name Index (IPNI) and in the World Checklist of Selected Plant Families (WCSP (in review)), accessed via The Plant List. This is not a new name by Colla, who provides three earlier references in his text - Audibert [Cat. Vég. Audibert, 1817], Burchell [Trav. S. Africa, 1822 or 1824] and Sweet [Hort. Brit. 103, 1826]. The name is based on Mimosa capensis, which is a rejected name of uncertain application.
