Notes. D. Seigler (pers. comm.) say "According to Bentham (1875), based on the imperfect diagnosis, Acacia brasiliensis may not be distinct from Calliandra bella (Mart. ex Spreng.) Benth., London J. Bot. 3: 110. 1844. Neither Colla's description of this species nor the specimen from his herbarium correspond to the description of Sprengel, which may have been a Calliandra sp. The specimen at TO-HG has characters compatible with a Mimosa species [Colla 1826a,b; Seigler et al. 2013a].".
