Acacia acellerata Maiden & Blakely, J. Roy. Soc. W. Australia 13: 2; pl. 3, figs 1–5 (1928)

Rigid shrub 0.3–0.6 m high. Branchlets glabrous or sparsely appressed-puberulous. Phyllodes sessile, straight to recurved or shallowly serpentinous, terete to subterete, 2.5–4.7 cm long, 1.2–1.7 mm diam., pungent, rigid, glabrous, with c. 16 prominent, raised (when dry), distant nerves. Inflorescences simple, 2 per axil; peduncles 3–7 mm long, glabrous; heads globular, 3–4 mm diam., 12–20-flowered, golden; bracteoles spathulate. Flowers mostly 5-merous; sepals free. Pods linear, raised over seeds, undulate, to 5 cm long, 2–2.5 mm wide, thinly crustaceous, glabrous. Seeds longitudinal, ovate, 2.5–3 mm long, semi-glossy, dark brown-black; aril helmet-shaped, cream-white.

Discontinuous distribution, occurring near Cranbrook, Jerramungup, Ravensthorpe and Mt Bland, W.A. Grows in loam or loamy sand in tall shrubland.

The Drummondn. 41 of some other set’ referred to by G.Bentham, Fl. Austral . 2: 326 (1864), as A. campylophylla , is A. acellerata , judging from a duplicate at Herb. NSW (sheet NSW216948).

Perhaps with affinities to A. curvata or A. leptoneura .
