Notes. Nom. illeg., non Benth. (Apr. 1837). Publication not seen but the Australian Plant Name Index (APNI) provides the comment: "A.D.Chapman, Austral. Pl. Name Index 50 (1991) lists 'Acacia huegelii Huegel nom. illeg.? (non Benth. (Apr. 1837)?". Huegel, Bot. Arch. Gartenbauges. Österr. Kaiserstaates 2: t.10 (1837) repeats Bentham’s description of Acacia huegelii, but associates it with the name "A. alata". This is here treated as a typographical error, rather than an attempt by Huegel to publish a replacement name'.
