Notes. Based on Gleditschia [Gleditisia] javanica Lam., Encycl. 2: 466 (1788), which was described from sterile material. Bentham (1875: 637) was unable to identify the entity but noted that "In herb. DC A. javanica is represented by A. pennata". No such specimen has been found at G-DC today and judging from Lamarck's quoted illustration Pluk. t. 123 [L. Plukenet, Phytographia pt 3: t. 123 (1992)] the entity appears not to be a species of Senegalia.
