Notes. According to Nielsen (1984b: 354): Fosberg included Acacia lophanthoides in the synonymy of Paraserianthes lophantha. This was based on a Bertero collection from Jamaica (G-DC) which is sterile and has oblong, elliptic, broadly rounded leaflets a character out of place in this species. Plants of the World Online treats this name as a synonym of Acaciella villosa (Sw.) Britton & Rose.
