Notes. Treated as conspecific with Acacia pennata subsp. hainanensis [=Senegalia hainanensis] by Nielsen (1980: 352), however this is incorrect. The entity described as Acacia macrocephala is currently under review (B.R. Maslin, Dec. 2015).
