Dwarf Myall
Dense, rounded or obconic shrub 0.5–1.7 m high. Branchlets glabrous or appressed-puberulous. Phyllodes patent to ascending, linear to oblanceolate-linear to oblong-elliptic, straight to curved, occasionally terete, mostly 2–6.5 cm long, usually 2–5 mm wide, acute to short-acuminate, coarsely pungent or innocuous, coriaceous to rigid-coriaceous, glabrous or appressed-puberulous and glabrescent, with numerous closely parallel, yellow nerves, the internerve spaces darker coloured and with evident stomata; gland(s) 1–3, inconspicuous, (3– ) 5–21 mm above pulvinus. Inflorescences simple, 2 per axil; peduncles 2–11 mm long, glabrous to appressed-puberulous; heads globular or slightly obloid, 4–6 mm diam., 18–35-flowered, golden; bracteoles linear to fusiform. Flowers 5-merous; sepals free or shortly united basally. Pods linear, straight to shallowly curved, to 10 cm long, 2–3 mm wide, thinly coriaceous or chartaceous, appressed-puberulous or glabrous. Seeds longitudinal, elliptic to oblong, 3–4 mm long, glossy, brown or brown-black; aril terminal, bright yellow.
Occurs in south-western W.A. from Yuna (c. 35 km due E of Northampton) to Pingrup.
A member of the ‘ A. enervia group’.

Phyllodes linear to linear-oblanceolate, normally straight to shallowly incurved, often sigmoidally, occasionally terete, (2–) 3–7 (-10) cm long, (1–) 2–3 (–4) mm wide, acute to shortly acuminate with straight to shallowly curved or uncinate, innocuous to coarsely (rarely sharply) pungent points. Peduncles 2–6 mm long. Seeds glossy, brown-black.
Occurs from Kalbarri Natl Park (c. 100 km due N of Geraldton) SE to Pingrup (c. 50 km due N of Ongerup) in south-western W.A. Grows in sandy or stony, often saline, loam in association with Casuarina spp, Holosarcia and eucalypts.
A variant in the north-central part of the range has very narrow phyllodes (1–1.5 mm wide, 3.5–7 cm long) which vary from flat to subterete e.g. 14 km E of Kulja towards Beacon, B.R.Maslin 3975 (CANB, K, MEL, NSW, PERTH).
Superficially similar to A. ancistrophylla var. lissophylla . Can easily be confused with A. enervia subsp. explicata when the two are sympatric.

Phyllodes linear- or oblong-oblanceolate to narrowly elliptic, normally straight to shallowly or strongly incurved, (2–) 3–7 cm long, (3–) 4–8 mm wide, acute to subulate-acuminate with straight, sharply to coarsely pungent points. Peduncles 5–9 (–11) mm long. Seeds glossy, brown.
Known only from a few localities near Mullewa, W.A.; the type collection was made in the vicinity of Arrino which is considerably south and west of most of the other collection localities. Grows on sandplains and in rocky clay.
Closely resembling A. patagiata and could be confused with A. unguicula .
