Acacia castanostegia Maslin, Nuytsia 12: 332–333 (1999)
Closely allied to A. pachypoda but differing principally in the following ways. Branchlets yellow-ribbed. Phyllodes quadrangular with a rather obvious nerve at the apex of each angle, not (or scarcely) dilated at base. Inflorescences mostly 1-headed. Sepals free, narrowly oblong, c. 1/3 length of petals; petals elliptic, 1.3–1.5 mm wide.
Scattered occurences from near Southern Cross S to near Lake King and Norseman, south-western W.A. Grows in sand, loam or laterite, in Eucalyptus woodland, open scrub or heath.
