Acacia tabula Molyneux (ms)
Shrub 0.4–0.6 m high. Branchlets not pruinose, glabrous. Phyllodes inaequilaterally narrowly oblong-elliptic, 6–10 (–14) mm long, 1–3.5 mm wide, acute to sub-acute, excentrically mucronate, thin-textured, glabrous, midrib not prominent, lateral nerves obscure or absent, gland 2–4 mm above pulvinus. Inflorescences racemose, raceme axes 5–12 mm long; peduncles 1.5–2.5 mm long, glabrous; heads globular, small (2–2.5 mm diam.), 5–8-flowered, golden. Flowers 5-merous; sepals united. Pods and seed not seen.
Known only from Splitters Ck, S of Wulgulmerang, north-eastern Vic. Grows in dry open forest on shallow soils derived from sediments. Acacia infecunda and A. nanopravissima occur in this same area (in Fl. Austral . these species were treated as dwarf variants of A. boormanii and A. pravissima respectively).
Plants of A. tabula are dwarf shrubs to 0.5 m high; they spread by suckering and do not seem to set fruit. In Fl. Australia this species was treated as a dwarf variant of A. buxifolia subsp. buxifolia which, apart from its taller stature, differs most obviously from A. tabula in having larger phyllodes (10–30 x 2–6 mm).
