Acacia malloclada Maiden & Blakely, J. Roy. Soc. Western Australia 13: 23, pl. 15, figs 1–5 (1928)
Slender shrub. Branchlets angular, moderately to densely pubescent-villose. Phyllodes linear, flat, straight or slightly falcate, 3–5.5 cm long, 2–4 mm wide, with straight or oblique mucro c. 1 mm long, stiff, with numerous stomates, sparsely to moderately pubescent, with 6–10 parallel, longitudinal, equally prominent veins, with 3–6 veins per mm, not anastomosing; gland small with an oblong, elliptic or slit-like orifice, just above pulvinus; pulvinus densely pubescent. Spikes ?7–15 mm long. Flowers 5-merous; calyx cupular, c. 0.8 mm long, dissected to c. 1/3, ciliolate; corolla nearly glabrous, about twice length of calyx; ovary hirsute. Pods not seen.
The type specimen appears to be the only record of this species and very little information is provided on its location, habit or habitat. Many of the specimens previously identified as A. malloclada in Australian herbaria belong to the Acacia hammondii - Acacia sphaerogemma complex, of which it may simply be a variant.
