Acacia gittinsii Pedley, Proc. Roy. Soc. Queensland 75: 30 (1964)
Graceful shrub 1–2 m high distinguished from A. ruppii in the following ways. Phyllodes linear to narrowly linear, 1–3 cm long, 0.6–1.2 mm wide; gland normally absent. Inflorescences 6–15-headed racemes; raceme axes 2–5 cm long and together with the peduncles rather slender and sparsely to moderately hairy; heads 4–5 mm diam., c. 20-flowered. Petals glabrous or subglabrous. Pods (very immature, also old dehisced valves) subglaucous, glabrous to subglabrous.
Confined to the Blackdown Tableland S of Blackwater, Qld. Grows on sandstone in Eucalyptus woodland; it is common in places in wetter areas. Other acacias confined to the Blackdown Tableland include A. hendersonii and A. storyi .
Perhaps better treated as a subspecies of A. ruppii . Phyllodes may resemble those of A. burbidgeae and A. arbiana , both of which are readily distinguished by their non-racemose inflorescences.
