Acacia eremophiloides Pedley & P.I.Forst., Austrobaileya 2: 277; 278, figs 1 & 2; 279, fig. 3 (1986)

Glabrous, resinous shrub to 2.5 m high. Branchlets slender. Phyllodes patent to erect, linear, 4–6.5 cm long, shallowly incurved, 2.5–3 mm wide, l:w = 15–25, narrowed towards base, obtuse-mucronulate, coriaceous; midrib and margins quite prominent; lateral nerves obscure, parallel to midrib; gland obscure, 0.5–1.5 mm above pulvinus, also at base of mucro. Inflorescences simple, 1 or 2 per axil; peduncles 8–10 mm long, the base ebracteate; heads globular, c. 30-flowered, golden. Flowers 5-merous; sepals united. Pods linear, convex over seeds, to 8 cm long, 3.5 mm wide, cinnamon brown. Seeds longitudinal, 3.3 mm long; funicle folded below the oblique aril.

Geographically restricted to an area of 4–5 hectares in south-eastern Qld, S of Mundubbera. Grows on a granite outcrop between 460- 550 m alt.

A member of the ‘ A. johnsonii group’ and distinguished from its close relatives, A. gnidium , A. hockingsii and A. ixodes by its phyllode proportions. Further distinguished from A. ixodes by non-tuberculate phyllode margins and normally narrower pods.
