Acacia adinophylla Maslin, Nuytsia 12: 318–319 (1999)

Rather dense, intricate, hirtellous to puberulous or infrequently glabrous shrub to 1.5 m high, commonly prostrate. Phyllodes mostly fasciculate and crowded at mature nodes on short nodose branchlets, cuneate-oblanceolate, 3–7 mm long, 1–2 mm wide, obtuse and obliquely mucronulate, thick but flat, green; midrib submerged, not prominent; lateral nerves absent. Inflorescences simple, 1–4 per axil; peduncles 6–15 mm long, the base ebracteate; heads globular to slightly obloid, 5–6 mm diam., mostly 20–30-flowered, golden. Flowers 5-merous; sepals free. Pods narrowly oblong, to 2 cm long, 5–7 mm wide, firmly chartaceous, undulate or twisted at dehiscence. Seeds spheroid, c. 3 mm diam., dull, dark brown; aril conspicuous, curving 1/2-way around seed, cream.

Known only from the type locality in south-western W.A. Grows in rocky loam and loamy sand or clay, often over jasperlite, in open Eucalyptus ebbanoensis mallee shrubland.

Similar to A. nodiflora in its fascicled phyllodes with the peduncles arising from the fascicles, but that species has longer, linear phyllodes, spiny stipules, sometimes bracts on the peduncles, much longer pods and oblong seeds.
